Post-Miscarriage Beta #3

This will be brief because I am, through fit and tears, in the process of, psychologically, letting go of my pre-conceived timeline of IVF #2.

I don't know how to plan IVF around my life because I would rather plan my life around IVF.

Opportunities are popping up that will require me to travel in September and again in October and all I can think about is the fact that IF my hcg levels do not drop to zero now, THEN I can't start birth control pills in August AND THEN I have no hope of a retrieval before things get busy in September and I have to travel.

Current beta Hcg: 49.3

It has taken two weeks for it to drop from 280.1 to 49.3.  WHY?!

They are not concerned because it is dropping.

At least the bleeding seems to finally be tapering off.

Ugh. I'm so sorry that it's hanging on so long.

My post m/c beta didn't drop to 0 until the day I got my actual next AF. I went in to the RE saying that I knew it would finally be 0 because AF had shown up that morning. Before that, it was just holding on very slowly...

So, in that vein, I hope you start bleeding again soon because AF is there and your body is resetting itself altogether and getting ready for the next steps. And, I hope the timing works out!!! Sending love your way.

I'm not sure if it did any good, but after my first miscarriage I did a liver cleanse using Tho.rne Medi.Clear Plus and Medi.Bulk, plus the TAPS supplement. My naturopathic doctor is an ardent fan. My betas dropped really fast, but it also could have been a coincidence. Along with the supplements, I also followed a pretty strict diet.

I hope the last 40 drop super fast!!

I am so sorry! When I had my miscarriage, time would not speed up fast enough to allow me to physically move on and start a new cycle; I knew that would help me emotionally!

Big big hugs my friend. Apparently it's normal than when HCG is below 100 it's much slower to got to zero, But it will happen, and I agree with Rebecca, this doesn't mean necessarily you have to delay the next treatment, you may start bleeding sooner than you think! Keeping you in my thoughts. Fran

Just found your blog. My hcg got up to 1500 last summer before the shots to terminate (ectopic). It took WEEKS to go back down. I can't remember for sure, but I'm quite positive I didn't get a period until September and we terminated in the middle of July. Your hcg is going down. Try to stay as patient as you can. Your body is healing and you want it to be as strong and ready for your next try as possible. Hugs and thoughts. I am so sorry you have to go through this. xoxoxoxo

Just found your blog. I am so sorry. I hope that the rest continues to drop fast. I completely understand your frustration about putting off the next ivf too. I also want to live my life around treatments and not the other way around. Wishing you lots of strength.

I'm so sorry. I remember in my last natural M/C (as opposed to a D&C) I was at 9 (freaking 9) forever!

Please be gentle with yourself. I will be thinking of you.

Just reading this now...so sorry it's taking so long. For me, each miscarriage took longer than the last to hit zero. So frustrating.
